# Create an export

> Start a downloadable export of one finished target language.

Starts an asynchronous export of a ready target language in the requested format.

### Header

  The target language entry. It must be ready and have an output asset.

### Body

<ParamField body="format" type="string" required>
  One of `capabilities.exportFormats`: `mp3`, `wav`, `flac` or `mp4`. `mp4` is the composed video and requires a video source.

  The export identifier. Poll the download endpoint with this same id.

  The target language.

  `PROCESSING` at first. Later `RETRY` (a transient retry of the same export) or `READY`.

<Warning>
  `PROCESSING` and `RETRY` are not failures: keep polling the **same** `exportId`. Starting a new generation to work around a slow export will charge again.
</Warning>

### Common errors

* `code = 47117`: the target does not exist, is not part of a project you own, or is not ready.
* `code = 47101`: `format` is missing or is not a supported export format.
* `code = 47102`: the project does not exist **or** is not owned by your account.
